INCORRECT INFORMATION IN RODNEY TIMES ARTICLE
It has come to our attention that an article which appeared in the Rodney Times dated 21 February 2013
contains incorrect information and we would like to provide the correct information as follows:
The new dog control bylaw passed by Auckland Council in November 2012 agreed that dogs would be allowed
on Auckland beaches (including Hibiscus Coast beaches) off leash and under control on a year round
basis.
However, during the summer period from Labour Weekend until the end of February,
dogs will NOT be allowed on beaches between the hours of 10.00am and 5.00pm. Before 10.00am and
after 5.00pm they can be off leash and under control.
We hope this clarifies the new ruling which comes into effect on 1 July 2013.

1. SUMMER RESTRICTIONS FOR DOGS ON BEACHES ENDING !
Yaaaaay, restrictions for dogs on beaches on the Hibiscus Coast and Rodney ends Sunday 17 March.
"Dogs are prohibited between 9am and 7pm until 3rd Saturday in March". Dogs will be allowed off
leash all day from Sunday 17 March in the above areas.
Sadly (for this year) restrictions on North Shore beaches and many of those in other areas of Auckland
continue until the end of daylight saving on 7th April.
The new Auckland Dog Policy will come into effect from 1 July 2013 and we will soon all be operating
under the same rules. Yeee Ha !!
